To me student government is not just an extracurricular activity aside from my school studies; it’s a way of life! I’ve been involved with student leadership since 2002 because I’m passionate about active campus involvement. Since attending Arizona State University, I have become very interested in how the student fee is allocated, lower tuition rates, and reduced costs for textbooks; including an open textbook program. I feel that I can be a strong voice for the student body of the Polytechnic campus and contribute to student success. My platform is easy to remember: “Got a PENCIL?”
- Promote student success
- Enhance campus and college life
- Never give up
- Change for the better
- Improve the use of the student fee
- Lower tuition costs as much as possible
I feel that I am deserving of your vote because I have a strong desire to make a difference on campus and in the community. In my past, I was Class President at Red Mountain High school between 2003 through 2006. I also held offices in student government and served on the Dean’s Advisory Council at my two-year college, Mesa Community College. After that, I served as the Vice President of Administration on the Omicron Beta chapter’s executive board for the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. Here at ASU, I am currently an intern with the Arizona Student’s Association working hard to lobby for lower tuition rates. I’m also a member of the ASASUP student government Advancement Committee. I’ve worked hard and enjoyed the challenges of these positions and not only lived up to the responsibilities of them, but exceeded the expectations. I believe I can have a strong impact and make a difference for the student body, the student government, faculty, and administration for ASU!

Vice President
Gina Guinasso
Vote Gina Guinasso for Vice President. The candidate with the most national and local experience in student government. She has trained in Washington, D.C. and lobbied for federal legislators. For the last three years she sharpened her leadership skills at the National Collegiate Leadership Conference. Here on ASU-Poly, she served as a Senator and has been on the Programming and Activities Board (PAB) for two years. In addition to the leadership roles she represents ASU-Poly by playing intramural coed football and softball for two years and has been in Christian Challenge for three. Gina has the student government, leadership, and teamwork experience needed to fight for your rights and resources while leading the student body into a better future.

I am a 23-year-old Arizona Resident and a motivated senior at Arizona State University, attending the Polytechnic campus in the College of Technology Innovation. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA in my major, which is Applied Biological Sciences. My experience in this major has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities and has become a foundation for my goals as I seek a career in Medicine. I have had classes that range from Jazz in America to Applied Cell Biology, and I have loved all of them. I want to support the growth that has occurred at the Polytechnic campus and this is the reason I am running for Vice President. I feel like this position will bring with it some unique challenges and I look forward to it. Polytechnic is a growing campus with many new facilities and programs, my goal is to maintain and strengthen this spirit of growth and student involvement on campus. I want to have a student government that is accessible and helpful for students on campus.
School and involvement on campus:
- President – Latter-day Saint Student Association (L.D.S.S.A.) Fall 2008 - Spring 2009. As a member of the LDSSA, we were involved in blood drives, food drives, and school activities on campus.
- Mildcats organization Spring 2009
- Induction to Golden Key Honor Society – Fall 2008
- Dean's list 2008-2009
- Invitation to International Scholarship Laureate Program Delegation on Medicine, 2010 program
- Polytechnic Leadership Academy - Spring 2009

Secretary
Lauren Jeffrey
My name is Lauren Jeffrey. I am a senior in the Secondary Education (English) program at the College of Teacher Education and Leadership. I am also a Student Orientation Leader on campus. I am running for secretary because I would love to help Polytechnic students see the changes they want on campus actually happen. I know I have complained about things on campus and voiced how I think things should be done, and I want and am willing to be in a position to actually do something about it. I believe I am a relatable candidate that students would feel comfortable speaking with about any issues they care to talk about. I was the Director of Intramurals at Grand Canyon University during my sophomore year of college. With that position, I was responsible for everything directly related to intramurals from running sign-ups to scheduling games to planning championship events. I think that experience and willingness to be involved on campus will help me be the most affective leader possible. I would love to take students' ideas, turn them around, and make them a reality!

Hello Students I am the best choice for secretary of our student government and after reading this you’ll understand why. To start I am only candidate running for secretary that has experience being part of the ASU Polytechnic student government. I’ve held the position of Senator and ASA Director. I’ve helped pass legislation that will see a new student union, health center and fitness center built here at poly within the next few years. I’m the most qualified choice running for secretary and already have a track record of dedication to our school.
In addition to these positions I am currently pledge class president of my fraternity and I was the captain of the ASU aids walk team for 2009. Even before I transferred to ASU Poly from Chandler-Gilbert I had established a reputation for service above self, trust, respect, loyalty and solidarity.
Not only do I have experience at our school my position as ASA director has brought me to our state and federal legislators. At our state level I’ve helped with the campaign to get the Common Course Numbering bill passed which in the future will ensure that all 100 and 200 level classes within Arizona will be able to transfer between institutions in Arizona without worrying if your hard earned credits will be found invalid. I have also personally lobbied Senator McCain and Congressmen Flake on behalf of students here in Arizona and at Poly specifically. I was in DC earlier this March helping to pass the student finical aid reform bill that has now been signed into law. This will help relieve the burden of crushing student loans. Also my major is only available here at poly so I won’t be going anywhere.
Vote for me the best choice for ASU Polytechnic.
