Bachelor of Applied Science

For individuals with an A.A.S. degree, we also offer a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Manufacturing Technology and Management, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Materials Joining, ideal for those with a welding background. These programs allow individuals to receive a block of 60 transfer credits toward an ASU degree.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree offered by Arizona State University provides an efficient path forward for those whom have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree. Specific programs in the Maricopa Community College District that align well with this program are:

  • Chandler Gilbert Community College's Automated Manufacturing Systems
  • Gateway/Estrella Community College's Industrial Operations Technology
  • Gateway Community College's Manufacturing Productivity
  • Gateway Community College's Aerospace Manufacturing Technology
  • Mesa Community College's Electromechanical Automation Technology
  • Mesa Community College's Manufacturing Technology

A similar alignment is also available for the Bachelor of Applied Science: Material Joining degree program. This degree path is ideal for those A.A.S. holders with a strong background in welding.

The same degree alignment benefits are available to students who have earned Associate of Applied Science degrees from other regionally accredited schools both in Arizona and outside of Arizona. For instance, students from Arizona Western College, Central Arizona College, Coconino Community College, Cochise College, Diné College, Eastern Arizona College, Mohave Community College, Northland Pioneer College, Pima Community College, and Yavapai College with appropriate Associate of Applied Science degrees have access to the same "degree to degree" articulation experienced by the Maricopa Community College District students. A representative from the MMET Department visits many of these schools on a regular basis and can provide additional information about the program.
