The School of Educational Innovation and Teacher Preparation at the ASU Polytechnic campus invites applications for a new assistant professor tenure-track position in reading and the language arts. This position presents an exciting opportunity to build new programs, and conduct research in collaboration with faculties in elementary, secondary, and special education and in the liberal arts, with the new on-campus PreK-12 charter school, and with urban and suburban school districts.
Earned doctorate in Reading, Language Arts, or English Education
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Two years of experience teaching or working in PreK-12 educational settings
Demonstrated ability to conduct research
Undergraduate degree in English
Experience with literacy in content areas
Experience with innovative course or program design at the post-secondary level
Evidence of leadership and team membership experience
Membership in professional organizations (e.g., IRA, NCR, NCTE, AERA, ASCD)
Evidence of collaboration with faculty in related fields

Arizona State University at the Polytechnic campus is located in Mesa, AZ, approximately 20 miles from the Phoenix metropolitan area, and is a critical component of ASU’s emergence as a “New American University.” ASU's Polytechnic campus offers an applied approach to professional and technical programs that meet business and societal needs. The School of Educational Innovation and Teacher Preparation at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus invites applications for the position of Associate Dean.
The Associate Dean will be responsible for establishment of the research/development agenda for SEITP, oversight of all current undergraduate and graduate programs, coordination of development of new courses and programs, and establishment of partnerships with other colleges in the ASU family and the charter school, as well as with local school districts and businesses and industries for the purpose of advancing the mission of SEITP. Additional responsibilities include participating in development and implementation of the program for the recruitment and retention of students.
* PhD or Doctorate in related field
* Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience.
* Collaboration and partnership experience with other colleges and with community K-12 schools.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with the design and/or implementation of PreK-14 educational programs.
* Undergraduate or graduate degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline
* Experience assisting faculty with meeting research, publication and teaching goals.
* Experience implementing college recruitment and retention programs.
