TEACH+ME

(Teacher Education And Certification Highway + Masters in Education)

The School of Educational Innovation and Teacher Preparation offers programs designed for individuals who have already completed a Bachelor's degree and want to pursue teacher certification. These self-paced, post-baccalaureate programs are geared toward working adults interested in achieving Arizona teacher certification. Students are involved in an array of experiences, learn the most recent teaching strategies, and become an interactive force in the development of a professional teacher education model. Students also participate in teaching experiences with a mentor teacher and students in designated rural and urban schools.

After completing the coursework for certification, students have the option of earning a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Professional Studies. TEACH+ME offers certification in Elementary and Secondary Education. Similar programs are available for students seeking certification or endorsements in Early Childhood, Physical Education and Special Education.

TEACH+ME Program Design and Features

  • The programs can be completed in as little as one calendar year, or students may attend part-time and complete the program at a slower pace.
  • Courses are offered in 8 week sessions, meeting one night per week.
  • All classes are held at ASU's Polytechnic campus in Mesa.
  • Faculty includes experienced master teachers.
  • Pre-requisite courses are offered through an online or online hybrid format.
  • Field experience (5 hours per week) provides opportunities to gain professional expertise with classroom mentors.
  • Program concludes with full-time student teaching.
  • Optional Master of Education degree.
