The Macromarketing Conference was held June 22-25, in Lovran, a scenic village on Croatia's Opatija Riviera. Croatia, with its deep and long-standing marketing tradition and unique location at the crossroads of Europe, was a superb location for scholarly discussions related to optimal marketing outcomes and ultimately to democratic processes and social justice. By all accounts the Conference was a great success. Participants were afforded the opportunity to engage in stimulating dialogue, while working with scholars from around the globe in a magnificent venue. In addition to many regular Macromarketers in attendance, this year's Conference also welcomed first-time participants from Croatia, Ireland, the U.K., France, Poland, Finland, Turkey, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Many excellent papers were presented; most of them were published in the Conference Proceedings. Several authors were encouraged to submit exemplary manuscripts to the Journal of Macromarketing. These manuscripts will undergo further competitive review. Upon reflection, the Opatija Riviera remains a model for what Southeast Europe can be. Through a shared vision of tolerance, cooperation, sustainable development, consumer orientation, and enhanced life quality this community is the embodiment of the Macromarketing ethos. Ultimately, it is well positioned to take a leadership role in Southeast Europe's resurgence as a contributor to the global community. We would be remiss if we did not thank those who participated and those who showed interest in the 25th Annual Macromarketing Conference. So, hvala liepa (thank you)! Finally, we acknowledge, in alphabetical order, this year's sponsors, without whom the Conference would not have been possible: Arizona State University, Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology Journal of Macromarketing Marketing and Society SIG, American Marketing Association United States, Department of State, Public Affairs University of Rijeka
