Please remember that the best final flight-destinations are Ljubljana, Trieste and Zagreb. Should you arrive at any of these airports, someone will be available to meet and to shuttle you and your guests from the Trieste, Ljubljana, or Zagreb airports or train stations. Some of you have expressed interest in traveling by train all the way to Rijeka. We of course can collect you at the Rijeka train station and shuttle you to the Hotel.
Most standard fares to Croatia from the U.S. are approximately $900.00. Below are some route and destination suggestions that may yield cost savings depending on timing, seasonal promotions, etc.; for example:
* R/T fare to Milan and train to Trieste may amount to less than $600.00, possibly less than $500.00.
* R/T flight to London via Virgin or British Airways, then connection via British Airways or Croatian Airlines to Zagreb, or connection via Adria Air to Ljubljana, may cost less than $600.00.
* LTU R/T to Dusseldorf (or possibly to Frankfurt) connecting to Munich and then a train to Rijeka, may amount to less than $600.00
* R/T fares via Icelandic Airways to Luxembourg, with transfers to other major cities are also comparatively inexpensive.
* Ticket brokers, as advertised, for example, in the Travel Section of Sunday's New York Times, can be helpful when trying to purchase cheaper tickets.
