Marketing Contributions to Democratization and Socioeconomic Development "Dobro dosli" -- welcome -- to the website for the 25th Annual Macromarketing Conference! We have provided information and links to help you learn more about the Conference, the venue, Croatia and the region.
A Conference on Croatia's Opatija Riviera will afford Macromarketing enthusiasts the opportunity to engage in stimulating dialogue, while working with many Europeans keen to understand and to implement the Macromarketing concept. The Conference will be held at the Excelsior Hotel. Located on the Adriatic Seaside, the Excelsior is a superb venue for our scholarly program and traditional "talks and walks;" a conference in transitional Southeast Europe provides an extraordinary opportunity to reach-out and to work with fellow scholars responsible for building new socioeconomic systems, in a manner consistent with our mission as Macromarketers. To that end, in addition to regular participants and other new European participants, we expect active involvement from local Croatian, Slovenian, Bosnian and Herzegovinian scholars and other scholars in the region.
In addition to the academic program and visits to local sites of interest provided with the registration fee, we also intend to include a partners program, including city tours, etc. For participants keen to see more of Croatia and local environs, we shall arrange a post-conference cruise to Dubrovnik along the Dalmatian coast, and a pre-conference day-tour to Venice. Yes, you can get there from here, wherever "here" may be. Optimal flight destinations include, in order, Ljubljana (Slovenia), Trieste (Italy), and Zagreb (Croatia). Connections are very easy via, for example, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Paris, Milan, Rome and Zürich. Shuttle service to and from the Excelsior Hotel in Lovran, Croatia will be provided to those participants who send to us specific arrival and departure information. A conference in Croatia provides an opportunity to invoke the spirit and practice of Macromarketing. Participants will find that Croatia is a beautiful country and its people are friendly. Moreover, the Opatija Riviera is very safe; even petty crime is rare. This is a multiethnic region where Croats, Italians, Slovenes, Serbs, Bosnian-Muslims, Germans, Austrians and Hungarians continue to live in harmony. Again, welcome to Croatia, the Opatija Riviera, and the Macromarketing Conference!
