25th Annual Macromarketing Conference
Participants must register separately for the Conference and the Hotel; Participants also may register for the optional partners' program, and optional excursions to Venice and/or Dubrovnik. Details follow.
Conference Registration: Registration will be administered through Arizona State University. Payments may be made with MasterCard, VISA, money order or cashier's check. No personal checks, cash or money-wires will be accepted. Registration fees for all attendees registering prior to May 22nd (including presenters), are $149.00. For those registering after May 22nd, the registration fee is $199.00. Please note there will be no refunds after May 22nd. Fees include conference program, proceedings, and a one year subscription to the Journal of Macromarketing.

Hotel rates have decreased due to changes in the exchange rate between the Deutsch Mark (DM) and the Dollar ($). New charges will be listed in DM; the conversion rate as of 4/16/00 is DM 2.04 per $1.00. Participants who wish to arrive early or stay longer may book rooms at the following rates:

Participants will stay at the Hotel Excelsior located along the Opatija Riviera in Lovran. The Opatija Riviera (25 km long) is spread along the eastern coast of Istria, at the foot of Mount Ucka (1396 m). Conference facilities include 180 sitting places in convention rooms equipped with audiovisual systems. Guestrooms come with balconies, TVs with satellite programming, direct dial telephones, mini bars, hair dryers, and 24-hour room service. Accommodations include access to beach activities, swimming, a fitness center, a hairdresser, a sauna and massage, tennis, bowling, table tennis, billiards, wind surfing, sport fishing, and water skiing. Optional Pre- and Post-Conference Excursions: Venice (June 21) The Venice excursion is a one-day trip, which includes, motor-coach transport to Porec, cruise-fare, and a Venice tour for $65.00. Please note that this does not include the cost of meals.
Dubrovnik (June 26- July 1) The JADROLINIJA ferry line has changed its time-table for this year; the ferry will depart on Friday, June 30 (instead of Thursday, June 29) from Dubrovnik and will arrive in Rijeka the morning of July 1st at 7:30a.m. Therefore, the visit will be extended in duration by 1 day. The Dubrovnik excursion includes cruise fare, cabin, breakfast on board, city tour, three-nights hotel accommodation in Dubrovnik, and half-board meals at the hotel for $330.00 per person in a shared room. If you wish to be accommodated singly while in Dubrovnik (1 person in 1 room), the cost is $375.00 per person; however, please note that this includes half cabin accommodation on the ship, as single accommodation here is not available. Those people participating in the Dubrovnik excursion will not be required to pay for Excelsior Hotel rooms, while in Dubrovnik. The tentative Dubrovnik visiting schedule is as follows:

June 30, 2000 After breakfast, transfer to the port, followed by accommodation in cabins. On the way to the town of Rijeka, the ferry will stop in the ports of Korcula, Hvar, and Split The group will arrive in Rijeka the following morning on July 1, 2000.
The Macromarketing Conference organizer has prepared a special program for partners. The program will include sightseeing in Rijeka, Opatija, and Lovran and various cultural and sport activities at no additional charge. In addition, a tour of Istria is also available for $49.00. The Istria Tour schedule is as follows:
The group will depart at 8:30a.m. and return at 7:30p.m. The tour will include a full day trip across the biggest peninsula on the Adriatic coast and one of the most developed tourist regions in Croatia. We shall visit Pula, a town well known for the Roman amphitheater, Rovinj, a picturesque Town of medieval architecture and Porec, the most well known tourist center in Istria with its Roman, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance monuments. Of special note is the VIth century Byzantine Basilica of St. Euphrasius. After lunch we will proceed to St Petar u šumi, a village in the middle of Istria, which owes its name to the Romanesque Benedictine monastery from XIIIth century. Here you can enjoy watching local folklore and wine tasting. Included: guide, entrance to the amphitheater, lunch, wine tasting Price: $49.00 ( minimum of 25 participants required)
