University Public Schools holds orientation sessions at Polytechnic campus

Friday, January 11, 2008

MESA, Ariz. —University Public Schools, an affiliate of Arizona State University, is holding orientations for enrollment and registration in the Polytechnic Center of Education Innovation, located at ASU’s Polytechnic campus.

University Public Schools is an initiative coming out of ASU’s office for education partnerships. It links ASU with school, community and business leaders in Arizona to establish an innovative, research-based educational environment that promotes student achievement and preparation for a global society.

The tuition-free K-6 school will open in July 2008, situated in pre-fabricated buildings nestled in a residential neighborhood located in the southwest area of the Polytechnic campus.

To help families get started, orientation meetings are being held throughout January and February, to allow for questions and pick up of registration materials.

The orientation meetings will cover school calendar for grades K-6, times, family involvement, before- and after-school child care, openings per grade level, classrooms, student lunches and attire.  Also at the meetings, the state-required and school-required registration materials will be reviewed in order to ensure complete registration packages.

Orientation dates follow and all sessions will be held at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Cooley Ballroom at ASU’s Polytechnic campus in Mesa:

  • Monday Jan. 14
  • Thursday, Jan. 31
  • Monday, Feb. 11
