Welcome!
Welcome to the ASU Community! We've collected information from all over the ASU web that you are likely to be looking for as you get started at ASU. It's important that you feel right at home as soon as possible. If you're moving to the Greater Phoenix area, be sure to check out the Relocation Resources site. This site is divided into two major sections: work and campus life and home and family life. There is also a page that contains frequently asked questions, one that contains additional resources, and a place where you can submit individual questions.
Welcome Events
New faculty and staff can expect an invitation to several events in August that are designed to orient you to ASU, and to give you an opportunity to meet other faculty.

New Employee Packet
New members of the ASU community, including faculty, administrative and classified staff, are required to complete a New Employee Payroll Packet before they can be paid. Your department should have sent you a new employee packet. (If not, call your department or call Human Resources to have one sent.) Enclosed in this packet is a checklist that provides clear and succinct information about how to deal with such matters as pay and benefits, parking, computer access, and ID cards. More information: www.poly.asu.edu/finance/newemployee/.
Getting Paid
You need to complete the payroll forms that are enclosed in your new employee packet and assemble the I-9 verification/identification documents that you will need. This must be done within 72 hours of your employment start date, but we strongly encourage you to take care of this earlier. We recommend that you complete the payroll forms, have the I-9 verification form notarized, and send it directly to HR. You may choose to be paid on a twelve-month basis, even if you are not on the payroll until August. You must submit the payroll options form: www.asu.edu/hr/forms/payopt.doc by May 31. You will also have to have your insurance providers chosen by the time you submit the form.
Human Resources
Human Resource functions for the Polytechnic campus employees are provided by ASU Tempe. The ASU Tempe representative for the Polytechnic campus is Jackie Miller.
