The only Lab in the United States accredited for PV Design Qualification and Type Approval

 
 

An ISO 17025 accredited testing lab, the Photovoltaic Testing Laboratory @ Arizona State University (ASU-PTL) is a world-renowned independent PV testing laboratory that has been serving  the community since 1992. It provides PV design qualification and type certification  service per IEC 61215, IEC 61646, and IEEE 1262 standards; and PV safety testing services per UL 1703 and (soon) IEC 61730 standards.

Additionally, long-term outdoor  exposure testing services in desert environments and specific engineering testing services related to flat-plate and concentrator photovoltaic modules are provided.

The Solar Power 2007 that took place in Long Beach, CA from 9/24/07 to 9/27/07 was billed as "America’s Largest Business to Business Solar Event". ASU-PTL was part of the show.

Accredited for IEC 61730-2

Photovoltaic Testing Laboratory - accredited for IEC 61730-2 module safety tests. The Photovoltaic Testing Laboratory is pleased to announce its accreditation to test modules in accordance with the IEC 61730-2 PV module safety qualification standard. PTL first achieved this accreditation on January 30, 2007 and has been performing IEC 61730-2 module safety tests for many manufacturers since.
