Applied Biological Sciences Minor
The Department of Applied Biological Sciences offers a minor for those students majoring in other areas but desiring additional knowledge of the biological sciences and their applications.
The Applied Biological Sciences minor requires 24 semester hours. Required courses are:

BIO 187 General Biology I

BIO 188 General Biology II

15 semester hours selected with the approval of an advisor in the Department of Applied Biological Sciences. At least 9 semester hours must be from an emphasis area and chosen with the approval of an advisor. At least 9 hours must also be upper division (300 and 400 level) courses offered by the Department of Applied Biological Sciences.
This minor is not available to students majoring in the biological sciences.
A concentration in Applied Biological Sciences is available under the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) degree, a program intended for the student who has academic interests that might not be satisfied with existing majors. Building on two academic concentrations (or one double concentration) and an interdisciplinary core, students in the B.I.S. program take active roles in creating their educational plans and defining their career goals.
