Assistant/Associate Professor of Art, tenure-track or tenured

School of Applied Arts
and Sciences is seeking a faculty member to participate in a planned program in applied arts. The
School of Applied Arts
and Sciences, the largest school at ASU’s Polytechnic campus, currently offers undergraduate and graduate arts and sciences degrees, as well as professional programs. With rapid growth, the school is planning a degree program in applied arts. Programs in the
School of Applied Arts
and Sciences emphasize applied study and have distinctive characteristics appropriate to a polytechnic environment. The successful candidate will offer courses serving the needs of students with diverse interests in art, especially in illustration; support interdisciplinary courses and programs that fulfill the polytechnic mission of the campus; pursue an active agenda in research/creative activity.
Required: MFA in art; college-level teaching experience and record of publication/creative activity commensurate with rank; specialization(s) in any of the following areas: illustration, medical illustration, digital illustration, animation; familiarity with applicable digital technologies; broad experience in traditional art; conceptual, technical, and representational knowledge within a studio setting. Desired: Evidence of successful experience working in interdisciplinary environments.
