School of Applied Arts & Sciences, Department of Exercise and Wellness

Names and Contact Information for our Ph.D. Graduates in Exercise and Wellness

The great majority of graduates of the Exercise and Wellness program have become college and university professors. Others are employed in research, federal government, public health practice, hospital, business, and private practice settings. Most of the college and university faculty are teaching in health and wellness promotion, worksite wellness, and fitness management programs. Courses most frequently taught include: exercise testing, exercise prescription, health and wellness promotion, fitness management, wellness foundations, exercise and nutrition, stress management, and Fitness for Life (basic instruction class), physical activity and health, graduate research methods, and research design. There are many other courses taught by our graduates depending on the graduate’s appointment. Areas of research focus of recent grads include exercise adherence, women’s health and wellness issues, strength training among older adults, physical self-perceptions, assessment of physical activity, appropriate physical activity for children and youth, computer technology and health promotion, chronic diseases and exercise, to name a few. A list of graduates and their places of appointment is presented below.
