Dr. Sebren is a Lecturer in the Department of Exercise and Wellness. Her interests focus primarily on the efficacy of mindfulness practices and interventions for reducing stress and improving health as well as pedagogical concerns in health promotion and exercise and wellness programming. In recent years, she has received training in the facilitation of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her area of research methodology is qualitative inquiry. Dr. Sebren teaches undergraduate courses focused on the foundations of wellness and socio-cultural issues in exercise and wellness, At the graduate level, she teaches courses focused on qualitative research methodology and mindfulness, stress, and health and facilitates the doctoral teaching internship.
