Campus-wide Computing

Campus-wide computing resources and wireless network zones are available to all ASU students and are maintained by the ASU Information Technology (IT) group. At ASU’s Polytechnic campus, this includes Computing Commons (located in the Academic Center Building), Technology Center and other satellite clusters located in the Health Center, Agribusiness Center, Student Union and classroom buildings. Scanners and printers are available at most sites. IT also maintains computer classrooms available for real-time instruction. These classrooms are equipped with between 25 and 40 computers each.

IT installs and maintains software on all computers available campus-wide at ASU’s Polytechnic campus. Operating system software available includes both Windows and LINUX. Available software includes the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Desktop Publishing software, AutoCAD, Maple, MathCAD, MATLAB, LogicWorks, Max+Plus II, PSpice, Xilinx, Microsoft Project, Java JDK 1.4, MS Visual Studio.NET (Visual Basic, C#, C++, J++), and Rational Suite. Student authentication is synchronized among all ASU campuses.
