Building Policies
Student Union General Building Guidelines and Policies
The property and facilities of the Student Union are intended for the educational support of the university mission where leadership, personal and professional development, citizenship, and social responsibility of the campus community.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in all campus buildings
Banned Items and Activities:
Illegal drugs, firearms, and gambling.
Rollerblades, RollerSkates, Skateboards, bicycles.
Use of candles and incense except as permitted by the Operations and Facilities Coordinator for ceremonial or spiritual purposes.
Alcohol:
Alcoholic beverages may be served or consumed only at designated special events as authorized by Arizona Board of Regents' policy 5-108 (A)(4), “Sale and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage on Campus.” No alcohol may be sold at any event. Alcohol permit information may be obtained from the Department of Public Safety (480) 727-3456.
Children:
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult who will assume responsibility for their welfare and conduct.
Animals:
Working animals such as Seeing Eye, Hearing dogs and dogs used in law enforcement are the only animals permitted in the building.
Equipment/Tables and Chairs:
Equipment/Tables and Chairs are available for check out free to ASU registered student organizations and campus departments.
Furniture/Game Room Equipment:
Furnishings, patio furniture and game room equipment belong to the Student Union and may not be removed from the building.
Computer Stations:
All computers installed in the student union are property of the student union and are not to be removed from the building. ASU students, faculty, staff and CGCC students are eligible to logon to these stations.
Game Room:
Personal items, food, and drinks should not be placed on game room tables. Equipment can be checked out at the information desk with a student ID.
The person who checks out the game equipment is responsible for its care and must remain in the game room while the equipment is in use. Game equipment must be returned in the same condition upon checkout or a damage fee may be assessed.
Game room fees may be assessed for guests who are not students of ASU or CGCC.
